Review – NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick (Aka The Best Red Lipstick Ever)

Hi guys!

I hope everyone had a good holiday season! Isn’t it so weird how 2018 is coming so soon? A lot of you guys will probably be heading to NYE parties on the 31st while I bring in the new year with some wine and Netflix. Whether you’re headed to a party or are doing something more lowkey, I have the perfect red lip for you to try. Read on for more!

I’ve written about the NYX Liquid Suede lipsticks before, and while I loved them, I found the colors to be a little bit off. Well, this past week I was snooping in my mom’s makeup collection when I decided to try her Liquid Suede lipstick in Cherry Skies.

I was pleasantly surprised when I put the lipstick on: it flattered my skin tone and made me look more awake and put together even though I had no other makeup on.

The NYX website describes Cherry Skies as a “deep wine red” and I definitely agree. This is not a true red or a blue-red, and I think that makes it better for people who are red lipstick averse. I tend to find most red lipsticks to be too much for me, and I definitely feel more comfortable in deeper or brick reds.

I touched on this in my previous Liquid Suede review, but the lipsticks are not transfer-proof. In fact, when I decided to put on a full face later in the day, the lipstick kept transferring onto my hand. However, I didn’t use a lip primer or lip liner so I can’t be too mad. And honestly, the color is so beautiful that I’m willing to deal with some color on my cup.

Would you try this lip color? Comment below!

Xoxo,

Témi
